Leone Interiors recently completed remodeling an estate home situated on five acres in Alpharetta, GA, a beautiful community just north of Atlanta. The entire décor was transformed from very southern traditional to a more transitional and open effect. The overall goal was to have the home feel inviting and current without being trendy or disrespectful of the architecture. We also wanted the fabulous exterior views to be the emphasis of the rooms across the back of the house.

The entire color scheme of the interior was reselected in primarily organic tints and tones to complement the natural elements of the house. Exceptions to this are seen in the centrally-located living room that called for an accent color to work off of a treasured painting, and some of the bedrooms have dramatic color choices.

Interior changes that were made include updating seven baths, the most extensive being the master. In the master bath travertine was used throughout to give a classic yet clean look, along with bronze lighting and plumbing fixtures. For the kitchen, the existing cherry cabinets remained, but the look was transformed with a large custom island, exotic granite, a chiseled stone backsplash, and fabulous luxury stainless appliances. As a complement to the rubbed black island, the fireplace surround in the adjoining keeping room was redone masterfully with large pilasters and oversized mantle in the rubbed black finish. Flooring was changed to complement the overall look throughout the house.

The client is a wine collector and a storage room in the basement was transformed into a wine cellar that marvels all who visit. The black slate floor and the tongue and groove ceiling with barrel vault are a few of the details that make this space very dramatic. Other areas in the basement level include the gentleman's room with its new fireplace mantle of lion heads, the game room, and state of the art theatre room.

New furniture was needed throughout the main areas and master bedroom. A rich mix of fabrics, woods, and stone truly made the spaces unique but unified and of course comfort was also a big priority. The artwork and artifacts placed throughout also personalize and add interest and texture to this magnificent home.

This experience was both challenging and rewarding from a creative perspective. Balancing time and travel with on-site supervision was always a priority. A group of fabulous artisans and contractors helped make the process run smoothly and their talents contributed to the overall success of the project.
